This weekend, on Sunday, April 28th, The Edge Sports Center is teaming up with the Eliza J. Norton Foundation for Eliza’s Play with Heart 3v3 Ice Hockey Tournament. This is the second year the East Coast Wizards Hockey Club has partnered with the Eliza Foundation. Last year was a huge success, and we’re excited to meet and exceed expectations this year. The tournament is only a few days away, so register your team today or submit your name as an individual, and the organizers will do their best to find a team for you to join. This event is a great opportunity to give back, have fun, and maybe even get your kids interested in joining our youth hockey programs!

Remembering Eliza
The Eliza J. Norton Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in memory of Eliza, a girl who loved playing on a rink or a field with her teammates. The foundation keeps her memory alive by empowering children like her to stand up for each other and themselves. By partnering with local organizations and school districts, the foundation helps to provide children access to sports Eliza loved to help them become confident individuals.
Play with Heart Hockey Tournament
Eliza was happiest playing ice hockey and loved “the crunch of the ice” under her skates. The Eliza Foundation organizes the annual Eliza’s Play with Heart Hockey Tournament to honor her memory and to support Hockey Shot, an organization that helps kids who love hockey get what they need to play. They provide gear, guidance, and financial aid to kids who love hockey but whose families don’t have the means to support their passion on their own. At last year’s tournament, the Eliza Foundation and the East Coast Wizards Hockey Club were about to raise over $50,000 for a Hockey Shot grant. We’re confident we can do the same or even better this year.
Youth Hockey Programs at The Edge Sports Center
The Play with Heart Hockey Tournament promises to be a fun day for all! Play in the tournament, participate in the auction, and stick around to enjoy local food trucks afterward. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community and to give back through local youth hockey programs.
