ABOUT

Welcome to Edge Sports Center

In response to a growing demand for year-round athletic facilities, The Edge Sport Center was created. Developed to provide varied recreational opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities, our state-of-the-art facility has become the premier hub in Northwest Boston. Built from the group up, Edge Sports Center now hosts over 260,000 youth athletes and over 85,000 adult athletes each year – with an annual attendance of over 575,000.

Our Facility

The facility is anchored with two ice rinks and two outdoor turf athletic fields. One field is enclosed from mid-November through March to provide a seasonal experience even during the off-season. Further, Edge offers a state-of-the-art athlete training center, and Achieve Physical Therapy.

In addition to filling a vital need in the community, The Edge Sports Center provides local and regional businesses the unique opportunity to reach an audience of athletes and families of local communities and beyond.

The ice rinks at The Edge Sports Center are host to youth and adult teams throughout New England. There are over 5,000 youth and adult hockey players that use the sports facility on a weekly basis during hockey season. In addition, many families utilize the ice skating rink for figure skating, learn to skate programs, public skating, clinics, and summer camps.

Nationally Recognized Hockey Programs

The major tenants in the hockey rink are the local programs of Lexington Bedford Youth Hockey, Bedford High School Hockey, Concord Carlisle High School Hockey, and the East Coast Wizards youth hockey program – one of the largest and most prestigious youth hockey programs in the country.

The East Coast Wizards Hockey alone comprises 850 players on 22 girls’ teams, 21 boys’ teams, a co-ed development program, and adult hockey teams. The teams range from age 4 through Junior (under 20). The Edge Sports Center hosts a minimum of 750 youth hockey games, 600 adult hockey games and 60 high school hockey games per season. Visiting hockey teams come from area towns such as Lincoln, Newton, Sudbury, Wayland, Westford, Burlington, Woburn, Winchester, and Weston

The Beginnings

Founded and managed by Scott Fusco, Edge Sports Center humbly provides athletes with full trained and experienced professional coaching. Scott graduated from Harvard University in 1986 where he was a two-time All-American hockey player, the career scoring leader, and the Hobey Baker award winner in that year. Scott was also a member of the US Olympic Hockey Team in 1984 and 1988. Prior to starting the Edge Sports Center, Fusco was a founder and Sr. Vice President of Software Quality Partners, a large regional IT consulting company. Quite impressive if we may say so ourselves!

The Edge Sports Center Turf

The Edge Sports Center Turf facility comprises two full size outdoor turf fields that are utilized by the soccer teams, lacrosse teams, field hockey teams, and baseball youth organizations in Bedford and the surrounding communities. The East Coast Wizard Field Hockey club calls the Edge their home. Also, several elite soccer clubs and lacrosse clubs make the Edge Sports Center their home field for athletic training and games. Major clubs include NEFC, Stars of MA, and Aztecs. One of the turf fields is enclosed from November through March allowing for indoor winter training and winter sports league play for youth sports programs and adult teams year-round.

The Edge turf facility hosts over 125,000 youth players and over 50,000 adult athletes per year.

The remainder of the Edge Sports Center is home to Wizards Strength and Conditioning, a sports strength and conditioning and Achieve Physical Therapy. As primary tenants in the Edge Sports Center, these businesses provide individual and team performance training, reconditioning, physical therapy, and personal training for athletes of all levels.
