The East Coast Wizards are excited to provide a full-time strength and conditioning facility at the Edge Sports Center. This state of the art facility is staffed by a full-time strength coach tasked to train our 1,300 athletes playing on Wizard Club teams in ice hockey and field hockey.
Programs are designed and implemented to help our athletes achieve sport-specific goals throughout their developmental life-cycle. Additionally, non-affiliated athletes also have access to our facilities and programs to achieve their respective goals.
Wizards Strength and Conditioning is dedicated to providing our athletes with the ultimate in sports performance programs. Our goal is to ensure that every athlete walking through the Edge Sports Center is given the opportunity to excel. We offer training in strength, speed, agility and injury prevention for all athletes.
Wizard Strength and Conditioning offers year-round programs that are integrated into each athlete’s season. Some of these are outlined below. For more information on the programs, including registration, please go to the following pages.
Wizards Strength and Conditioning will be offered to athletes looking to prepare for their upcoming season, regardless of the sport. Programs are developed for these athletes to ensure that they are in the best preparation for their upcoming season and will run for 6 weeks prior to their start. These programs will concentrate on speed, agility and injury prevention training for the athlete’s specific sport.
Strength and Conditioning training will be offered to all Wizard teams/programs in order to develop basic knowledge of speed and strength conditioning. This is important for all youth athletes to ensure their muscle development is in line with their growth as they enter puberty. Sessions will be a progression of training through their season with the end goal being to move on to the next form of training involving resistance bands and core training.
For an additional cost, 1 on 1 programs will be offered to athletes that are interested in expanding their strength training beyond the designated team programs. These 6-week sessions will benefit any athlete with the desire and willingness to maximize their own athletic ability.
Extensive summer programs to build the strength and speed necessary to prepare athletes for future seasons.
Here at The Edge, our programs are dedicated to the overall functionality and sound movement training for all sports. Strength training and conditioning with a focus on movement and proper technique is our major concentration. Our classes are limited to 8 athletes where we will utilize our top-notch training facility and outdoor turf fields.
